Peace & Unity Rally

August 31, 2017

I was honored to lead the members of the legislature’s Black and Puerto Rican Caucus (BPRC), along with our vice chair, Rep. Brandon McGee (D-Hartford/Windsor), and several community activists, clergy members, and state and local officials, at a Peace & Unity Rally speaking against hateful and bigoted speech that has become more and more concerning during the last few weeks.

Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz

Many thanks to our members and everyone who came to the State Capitol in support, including Speaker of the House, Joe Aresimowicz, Co-President Pro Tempore Len Fasano, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, Bridgeport Mayor Joseph Ganim, President of the NAACP Scot Xdaile, Reverend Victor Gomez of the New England Under Spiritual Revival, Rabbi Debra Cantor of B’nai Tikvoh-Sholom in Bloomfield, Raghib Allie-Brennan of the Triangle Community Center, and everyone else who organized, gathered, and listened that day. Our voices are stronger together. We stand for Peace and Unity!
