Session Begins with Swearing In

January 10, 2025

V
On Wednesday, I was sworn in to represent the 109th District for my second term at the state Capitol. And I assure you, the second time being sworn into office was every bit as meaningful -- if not more -- as the first.

I'm grateful and humbled to represent the residents of Danbury and look forward to a productive legislative session.

I always encourage Danbury residents to contact me about their questions, comments and concerns. In addition, I've included below some resources below to help you follow along with the legislative process and to stay informed.

Stay Informed
It's easier than ever to follow the action at the Capitol and get involved. There are several resources below you can utilize to stay updated on the legislative process as it unfolds in Hartford.

Here's how you can stay connected and actively participate:

  • The Office of Legislative Research (OLR) provides nonpartisan and unbiased research to members of the General Assembly and their staff. Part of their duties include writing bill analyses, which are summaries of bills in plain language.
  • You can view the Connecticut General Assembly's upcoming events by checking out its schedule on the CGA official website
  • Follow CT-N for live coverage of committee meetings, as well as House and Senate floor debates.
  • You can register to monitor any bill's journey as it goes through the legislative process. By signing up, you can enter the bill number and receive real-time updates. Stay informed with email notifications whenever there's a change in the bill's progress.
  • Visit this website for information on how to testify on a bill at a public hearing.

Major Issues

Three Kings Day Celebration
This year’s Three Kings Day celebration at Dominican Community Center with state Sen. Julie Kushner and Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves was a heartwarming success.

The event saw dozens of toys distributed to children in our community, bringing smiles to countless faces. In honor of the tradition, the center organized a festive gathering to celebrate the cultural significance of the day and share joy with local families.

Thank you to all who made this event possible.

As always, I'm committed to ensuring that your voice is heard. If I can ever be of any help, please feel free to call my office at (860) 240-8585 or email me directly.
