Wishing You a Meaningful Holy Weekend and an Update on the Week Ahead

April 1, 2026

Last week, the House convened on Wednesday, March 25th, to vote on judicial appointments and a contract between the state and Connecticut Employees Union Independent (CEUI). The majority of committees have wrapped up most of their work for the session and have passed a wide range of bills out of committee. House Leaders are now working together to decide which bills will be referred to another committee and which will be voted on in the weeks leading up to May 6th. Prior to that happening, any bill that has a fiscal note or cost will have to make it out of the Appropriations Committee prior to being sent to the House or Senate Floor for a vote.

Next week, the House will be in Session on April 8th and 9th as we head into the final weeks of the Short Session.

Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Access Health CT Deadline Extended, and more

January 16, 2026

As we enter the new year, it's been a busy and exciting start with almost daily pre-Legislative Session briefings, coffees, breakfasts, roundtables, and forums on a broad range of topics from non-profit leaders and consortia that work on the challenging issues of homelessness, hunger, access and affordability solutions for early childhood education, climate change, and housing. I've had the pleasure of meeting with UCONN and Stamford Health leadership and have upcoming meetings scheduled with business leaders from Stamford-based corporations like Indeed, Synchronicity, and the WWE, all in preparation for the "Short Session" that begins next month, on February 4th.

During this time, I am continuing to build a partnership with community leaders who advocate for the needs of Downtown, South End, and Shippan, as we work together to prioritize the needs of our Stamford residents and community. I look forward to hearing from you as we develop our legislative priorities in the General Assembly for our great state and city. Please be in touch now if you have specific priorities to share with me to best represent our great district, along with our Stamford delegation, at the state house in this year's Legislative Session.
