While the 2021 legislative session faced unprecedented challenges and obstacles, I brought the concerns of our community to Hartford and advocated for legislation that will directly benefit East Hartford.

The 2021 Regular Legislative Session ended a few minutes before midnight on Wednesday. I couldn’t be prouder of the work we have been able to accomplish as we all learned new and unprecedented ways to stay connected with each of you.

Local businesses are at the heart of every community in Connecticut, but sadly over the past year, they have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. While a number of great loan and grant programs have been established and implemented to provide aid, many small businesses missed out due to the sheer demand for assistance.

The House was in session last week. We were able to debate and pass several important pieces of legislation. Below is a list of the bills that were passed.

Yesterday, the House sent a powerful piece of legislation to the Governor’s desk. S.B. 1 declares that racism is a public health crisis in our state.
