I testified in the Finance Committee in favor of a bill I introduced to make much needed changes to the Family Court System so it can work, in a better way, in the best interest of the children.

Congressional Republicans are seeking to pass a law blocking regulations put into effect by the federal Department of Labor that allowed for Connecticut’s historic program.

I was pleased to join with the Connecticut Parents Union and others at a recent forum in the Legislative Office Building to speak out against the abuse of children in the school system.

State Representative Minnie Gonzalez received her committee and leadership assignments and was sworn in to represent Hartford’s 3^rd House Assembly District at the state capitol.

Funds were approved by the State Bond Commission for a library in Pope Park.

In the 2016 legislative session we passed many laws that aim to make Connecticut a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Some of these new laws go into effect in October. 

While we re-nominate almost every judge that comes to us, I did have concerns and complaints against this nomination and that is why I voiced my opinion against it. Attached are my questions as a member of the Judiciary Committee, and my testimony on the Floor of the House of Representatives.

I am very proud of the Borinqueneers in their finally being awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for all their sacrifices on the front lines of wars that defined and contributed to the foundation of the United States.
