Supporting the Housing Bill

The housing crisis looks different in each community and in different parts of the state. Many residents in our district may not feel directly impacted, but some of our family, friends, and neighbors are. I have spoken to residents in Chester, Deep River, Essex, and Haddam who are working families trying to purchase a home in their hometown or to move to a bigger home to accommodate their growing children, young people starting their careers looking for affordable rental units, and "empty-nesters" and seniors looking to downsize from larger homes to a smaller homes or rental units. They all want to remain in their communities and contribute to our local economies.
