Dear Neighbor,
I want to take a moment to walk you through some local Bridgeport projects and provide an update on them.

To start off, last March, Connecticut's Community Investment Fund 2030 Board granted Bridgeport $3.5 million to complete the East End development project we refer to as Honey Locust Square or the Civic Block. This grant fully funded the project, which will create a large retail space in our East End community.

Next is Johnson's Creek. Last June, Governor Ned Lamont announced a $400,000 grant for the Metro Council of Governments to "conduct engineering studies and other analyses, and conduct community engagement for a proposed living shoreline and transportation infrastructure alternatives along Johnson’s Creek in Bridgeport’s East End Neighborhood." I will be sure to keep you updated as this project progresses.

Finally, there is Bridgeport's hydroponic farm, which will be transformed from an illegal dumping ground dubbed "Mount Trashmore" into a farm that can grow vegetables year-round using only water, light, and nutrients.

The campaign to transform this dumping ground is making strong progress, and I'll continue to push for its funding and development.
