Paraeducators provide critical and direct support to teachers and students, which makes them an integral part of the school ecosystem. That is why I am happy to share that the Paraeducator Healthcare Subsidy Program will provide $5 million in financial assistance and increase access to quality health care.

The application period for the 2023-2024 winter season of the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) is open. CEAP provides vulnerable state homeowners and renters with crucial support for the associated costs with heating their homes.

During session, we successfully passed legislation that protects and supports individuals in the state who are in the twilight years of their life. To help shield our older residents from being victimized, we passed PA 23-161, AN ACT CONCERNING FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS.

Yesterday I attended a press conference where some great news was announced: Avelo Airlines will offer nonstop service between Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) and Puerto Rico's San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)! Introductory one-way fares from HVN to SJU start at $99 beginning Nov. 15, 2023.

Did you know residents in every town in the state have applied for CT Paid Leave? Approximately 66,000 workers in Connecticut have received over $375 million in benefits when they were unable to work due to qualifying health or family reasons.
