In this email, you can find information on how you can be involved, and I hope to see you there. Housing Bill (8002) Town Hall in Stamford

On Tuesday, January 13th, Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff and House Majority Leader Jason Rojas will participate in a Housing Bill Town Hall hosted by Indivisible Stamford, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Stamford Government Center (888 Washington Blvd) in the 4th Floor Cafeteria. This discussion will focus on the new housing bill HB 8002. All community members are encouraged to attend, participate in a discussion on the housing crisis in Stamford and Connecticut, and ask questions about HB 8002. 
 

Upcoming Stamford Community Food Distribution 

This Saturday, January 17th, Stamford PAL and iiMPACT-CT will hold a Community Food Distribution at Stamford Police PAL Center (245 Selleck St, Stamford, CT, 06902). The Community Food Distribution will start at 10 a.m. until items are gone and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

People Friendly Stamford Hosts Screening of "Fault Lines" and Panel Discussion

People Friendly Stamford and the Ferguson Library are hosting a screening of "Fault Lines", a groundbreaking new film that explores the intersecting issues of housing affordability, homelessness, and local laws in the San Francisco Bay area.
 
The screening will take place at the Ferguson Library in downtown Stamford on Wednesday, January 21st, at 6 p.m. Immediately following the film, People Friendly Stamford will moderate a panel to discuss the film and its resonance in Stamford and our region. The panel includes:

  • Senator Bob Duff, CT Senate Majority Leader representing the 25th District (Norwalk & Darien)
  • Carmen Colon, President & CEO of Pacific House, Inc.
  • Richard Freedman, President of Garden Homes Management & Chair of the Stamford Board of Finance

MLK Day of Service at UCONN Stamford

Honor Dr. MLK and join community members at the MLK Day of Service hosted by Irosa Cares Inc. on Saturday, January 17th, from 10 am to 2 pm at UCONN Stamford. Activities will include writing letters to U.S. troops, creating Valentine’s Day cards for senior citizens, a children’s book drive, and more. Light refreshments and door prizes are included.
