Addressing climate change and protecting our environment are issues that affect everyone in our state, nation and world today. With violent storms, temperatures, and sea levels all increasing, we owe it to ourselves and to future generations to act urgently.

Great News! Ledyard, Montville, and New London are all receiving an increase in State Funding from the PILOT Program. New London will receive $7,378,674 for the construction of a city pier.

Good news! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended booster shots for certain individuals who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine which includes:

Thames River Magnet School in Groton was one of the four Connecticut public schools that was awarded the National Blue Ribbon distinction. This distinction is given out annually to high achieving schools throughout the country. Congratulations to Thames River Magnet for their success!

Next week, several new laws in Connecticut will go into effect on October 1. These laws are a result of the hard work of my colleagues and I during the 2021 session. We worked tirelessly to push for change that would benefit all Connecticut residents.

It's National Small Business Week, the perfect opportunity for us to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of our state’s and nation's small business owners and leaders. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create roughly 66% of jobs in our country each year.

Veterans STAND DOWN 2021 is right around the corner. Held annually, this free event provides Connecticut's Veterans with one stop access to various programs and services offered by local, state, and federal agencies. STAND  DOWN will be held from September 22-24.

Today is the Groton Democratic primary. Registered Democrats will have the opportunity to select the nine candidates that will appear on the Democratic slate for Groton Town Council for the general election in November.
