Dear Neighbor,

Great news! Tarrywile Park in Danbury will receive $63,026 in  state funding to construct a community garden.

I've had a long history with Tarrywile. I was one of the members of the City Council when Danbury acquired the property back in the 1980s. Later on, I secured state bonding for the renovation of the mansion, and the expansion of the park to its current 722 acres of hiking, picnic, bird watching, other outdoor recreation, weddings, meetings, and as a community center. It is the crown jewel of the city's parks.

I'm grateful to Governor Lamont for recognizing the beauty that is Tarrywile Park. This grant to the Friends of Tarrywile Park will enhance any visit to one of Connecticut's largest public parks.
