The 2020 legislation session will get underway on Wednesday, February 5^th and we will be working on many issues that affect Hartford and the state.

A fellow state representative received a voice mail message I wanted to share and warn you IS A SCAM! My colleague called the number for verification and was surprised at how smooth and professional they seemed on the phone. He was almost ready to offer his credit card information when he suspected it did not make sense.

The non-partisan Office of Legislative Research recently published the 2020 Major Issues report, which summarizes key issues the legislature could take up during the upcoming session.

Just recently, the U.S. Census Bureau announced that it increased its hourly rate for census takers in Connecticut from $21.00 to $23.00 an hour! They are hiring for a variety of temporary jobs, including census takers, recruiting assistants, office staff, and supervisory staff.

This January 1st not only marked the beginnings of a new year, it also meant the enactment of dozens of new laws and reforms for Connecticut residents.

These projects will enhance commerce, expand affordable housing and provide services for some of the most vulnerable in our communities. I want to thank Governor Lamont for prioritizing these important projects for Hartford in this round of bonding.
