It’s a bittersweet feeling when it comes to my friend and colleague, Sen. Ceci Maher.

I had the privilege of knowing Ceci long before she became a legislator, and I’ve seen firsthand her deep commitment to public service.

We're in session today to address emergency legislation on several critical issues that were previously approved in the Senate on Wednesday. I will vote for its passage. I hope many of my colleagues do as well.

Today, our nation mourns the passing of the Reverend Jesse Jackson, a giant in the civil rights movement, a prophetic voice for justice, and a leader whose life opened doors for millions of people.

The Office of the Student Loan Ombudsperson, in conjunction with the Student Debt Crisis Center, will be hosting a five-part series highlighting key federal loan changes resulting from the "Big Beautiful Bill."
