A large state investment is coming to the South End. Next week, the Bond Commission will sign off on $1.2 million to remediate and redevelop polluted industrial sites.

I’m so proud of the efforts of the Waterbury community to support our fellow citizens who have arrived here seeking aid from the hurricanes that devastated communities this year. 

In Waterbury, more than 30,000 households have begun using their new green & yellow recycling carts.  By recycling more we will all be saving more. 

Connecticut families, currently on the waitlist, can start enrolling in the Care 4 Kids program, the state’s primary child care support program.

I was glad to see Governor Malloy sign the bipartisan budget I supported to close this year’s budget gap and move our state forward.

Gov. Malloy says he’s prepared to make compromises, but the GOP budget is unacceptable because it raises taxes, defunds pensions and takes money away from the state university system.

Now is the time to start thinking about applying for heating assistance. We are only a month or so away from cold weather.  If you are eligible for home heating assistance, this program is here to help you and your family stay warm.

Our neighbors, victims of Lounsbury Street fire, are still trying to get back on their feet.
