Those impacted by this latest round of relief should have received a letter in the mail this month notifying them that their debt has been forgiven.
This initiative works by purchasing qualifying medical debt at a fraction of its original cost—often for just pennies on the dollar—and then eliminating it entirely. For families struggling to keep up with everyday expenses, this relief can be truly life-changing.
This marks the third round of the initiative, which has now eliminated $198 million in medical debt since December 2024, helping 160,000 Connecticut individuals and families regain financial stability and peace of mind.
