Dear Neighbor,
Happy Friday!

I want to start off by recognizing November as Native American Heritage Month.

Connecticut’s Native communities have shaped our state’s heritage and continue to lead efforts in cultural preservation, education, and advocacy.

Native American Heritage Month is a time to honor and learn about the cultures, traditions, and histories of Indigenous peoples and celebrate their enduring legacies.

It’s a new era for Connecticut’s rail system!

Historic federal grants are being awarded to the Connecticut Department of Transportation and Amtrak including:

  • $172 million for Track Improvement and Mobility Enhancement
  • $102 million for Hartford Line Rail Program Double Track Project
  • $8 million for the Connecticut River Bridge Replacement Project
  • $6.4 million for Cos Cob Bridge Replacement Study
  • $2.56 million for Hartford Station Relocation Project

Did you know Connecticut is a proud member of the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission (MIC3)?

The Compact helps ease many academic challenges military children face during transitions, including school enrollment, eligibility, placement, and graduation.

Learn more about educational opportunities for military families at mic3.net.

As always, please feel free to contact me to share your ideas and concerns.
Sincerely,

Roland Lemar
State Representative
