Join Us To Help People Suffering Addiction

September 4, 2019

Sadly, the opioid epidemic continues to destroy families in Connecticut and around the country. As a legislator, I am determined to educate the public on available resources and access to care, and to lower the number of people suffering from addiction in the first place.

Join me later this month to hear directly from the Commissioner of Connecticut's Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and other experts and treatment providers who will help you navigate available resources, and discuss how to recognize signs of addiction, how to get your child into rehab, and how the insurance process works.

Helpful exercise for parents

We will run a program called “Hidden in Plain Sight” which is an interactive training that teaches us as parents and friends where our teens might hide drugs or alcohol. We will also be hosting a Narcan training, after which you will be able to take home a Narcan kit. (Bring your insurance card if you are interested).

Please join us Thursday, Sept. 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Cheshire Council Chambers for this valuable event.
