Governor Lamont signs 64th executive order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19

Governor Lamont yesterday evening signed another executive order – the 64th since he enacted the emergency declarations – that builds upon his efforts to encourage mitigation strategies that slow down transmission of the virus. Executive Order No. 7LLL enacts the following provisions:

  • Resumption of requirements and deadlines in child protection matters: Amends Executive Order No. 7G, Section 2 to end the suspension of requirements or deadlines related to child protection matters pending before the Superior Court.
In anticipation of schools reopening in the fall, the state of Connecticut has launched a $43.5 million initiative to boost access to internet and technology for students and families in need. The funds will be used to purchase laptops, improve home internet connectivity, and build 200 public WiFi hotspots across the state.
