House Majority Leader Jason Rojas (D-Manchester, East Hartford) announced the appointment of Rep. Mike Demicco (D-Farmington) as Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.

"As a committee co-chair, Rep. Demicco has proven he is willing to do the hard work necessary to enact meaningful change," said Majority Leader Rojas. "This makes Rep. Demicco an ideal choice to serve as Deputy Majority Leader, and I am excited that he has accepted this responsibility."

"I am grateful to Majority Leader Rojas for placing his trust in me, and I look forward to joining him in crafting and passing legislation during the coming session that will help all of Connecticut's residents," said Rep. Demicco.

As Deputy Majority Leader, Rep. Demicco's tasks will include assisting the Majority Leader with the development of policy, providing analysis of critical legislation, and shaping the agenda of the majority party.

First elected to represent Farmington in 2012, Rep. Demicco currently serves on the Public Health, Energy and Technology, and Environment committees.
