Upcoming Veteran Suit Drive
I am co-hosting a Veterans Employment Suit Drive with Representatives Larry Butler, Ron Napoli, and Geraldo Reyes on Saturday, August 28th at the West Side Middle School from 10 am to 12 pm.
Every year thousands of veterans make the transition to civilian life following their brave and valiant service to our nation. Unfortunately, many veterans returning home do not have jobs lined up, and if they do, are often underpaid.
Job candidates who show up for interviews with appropriate attire have a much better chance of landing the job. You can help Waterbury-area veterans find good-paying jobs and improve their quality of life by donating clothing at our Veterans Employment Suit Drive.
While business attire donations are preferred, other clothing items will be accepted and very much appreciated.
Items must be clothing in good condition and laundered. Donated items are for our male and female veterans and can include suits, dresses, pants, skirts, blazers, undergarments and accessories like handbags and jewelry. Undergarments are also always needed, including socks, undershirts, bras, boxers/briefs, and women’s underwear. Click here to view a full list of accepted items.
