I am proud to be a part of the first state in the nation requiring Public High Schools to offer courses on Black and Latino studies.

House Bill 7082 was passed in 2019 and signed to law after incredible input from Connecticut students and advocacy groups.

Thanks to the tireless work of my colleagues, the State Board of Education, and countless others to bring this curriculum to fruition.

It's an amazing educational achievement I hope other states will implement as well.
