Access Health CT Waives Requirement for Certain Small Businesses

November 30, 2021

Thanks to Access Health CT's Employee Participation Waiver Period, small businesses in Connecticut can obtain group health insurance from now until December 15, regardless of the number of employees who enroll. Any small business with up to 50 employees who are not currently enrolled through Access Health CAT Small Business can participate.

By waiving the usual minimum number of employees, Access Health CT offers some relief for small businesses – particularly those impacted by the pandemic – and also some peace of mind for their employees.

Many small businesses were forced to furlough or lay off non-essential staff during the pandemic and would otherwise no longer qualify for group health insurance plans outside of the waiver period. The Employment Participation Waiver Period can provide some relief for small businesses and their employees.
