CT Stands with Your Right to Choose

May 3, 2022

Late last night, while we were voting on the CT State Budget, a draft opinion revealing the Supreme Court's upcoming ruling to strike down Roe v. Wade leaked to the public.

Although this draft opinion is not a surprise, and will likely become final, that does not make it any less disappointing. We were prepared for it. The Connecticut General Assembly recently passed the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, which expands access to a safe and timely abortion, allows for advanced practitioners for whom abortion care is part of their scope of practice to perform abortions, and enacts protections for individuals seeking and providing abortions.

I support and will continue to do everything I can to protect the right to choose, and protect practitioners while keeping Connecticut a safe place for all.
