JUNETEENTH BILL SIGNING IN NEW LONDON
On Friday, June 10th, Governor Ned Lamont signed the Juneteenth Bill at the Amistad ship on City Pier. The bill SB 350: AN ACT ESTABLISHING JUNETEENTH INDEPENDENCE DAY AS A LEGAL HOLIDAY.
 
JUNETEENTH PANEL DISCUSSION & FLAG RAISING
On June 17th at 12:30PM, I will be joining the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity for celebratory discussion panel and flag raising ceremony commemorating Juneteenth as an official Connecticut State Holiday.

JUNETEENTH FESTIVITIES WITH HEMPSTEAD HOUSES
I had the great opportunity to attend the start of the weekend Juneteenth festivities at the Hempstead Houses with a great movie viewing of The Slave Narrative of Willie Mae followed by a great community conversation in front of a wood burning fire.
 
END OF SESSION WRAP-UP EVENT
On Monday, June 27th, the Groton and New London delegation will host an end of session wrap-up event at the New London Public Library. I will be there with State Representative Christine Conley and State Representative Joe de la Cruz to answer questions you have about the work we accomplished during the 2022 Legislative Session. I hope to see you there!
