I'm pleased to share with you that today the State Bond Commission approved $200,000 for improvements to the Black Rock Little League fields at Ellsworth Park.

This award builds upon $250,000 in state bonding that I secured earlier this year for field improvements. Based upon ongoing work and study, it has been determined that we need additional funding to move the project forward. The additional funding will help the city and Black Rock Little League to address drainage issues, level fields, make the fields more playable, and build new dugouts and fencing. I would like to thank the Governor for his ongoing support of this project and the league's continued growth. 

Black Rock Little League has experienced a resurgence in participation and my hope is that these improved fields will help maintain that growth. As a volunteer coach for the league, I know first hand how these programs help foster social skills, teamwork and perseverance in our youth.
