Our electoral rights are the foundation of our democracy, but as personal schedules become more and more rigid, voters are less able to make it to the polls. Or when they do, they get discouraged by the long lines on Election Day.
Earlier this year, the Legislature approved a resolution that would include a ballot question to amend the State Constitution to allow for an in-person early voting system. I was proud to have voted for it.
The question will be on the November 2022 ballot for voters to decide if Connecticut should implement it.
If adopted, our state would join the 46 states across the country to allow early voting.
