Dear Neighbor,

As you know, the work of a legislator does not stop when session ends. Throughout the year, I spend most of my week attending meetings and advocating for legislation that will positively impact the 57th district.

Below is just a highlight of some of the items I've been working on for you this week.

Ellington Veterans Coffeehouse

Join myself, Social Worker Rebecca Stack, and representatives from the DMV on Thursday, September 15 at 10:30AM at Hall Memorial Library (93 Main Street). We'll discuss the number of resources available to our veterans. Plus, refreshments provided by LuAnn's Bakery!

M&T/People's United Bank Merger

As I'm sure most of you know – this past weekend, M&T Bank completed its merger with People's United Bank, officially converting People's accounts into the M&T system. An online Welcome Center has been put together to answer any questions you may have.

If you're a former People's United customer needing assistance on accessing your accounts online, how to set up Bill Pay or more, click here.

If you are continuing to experience any issues, you are encouraged to contact their customer service representatives at +1 (800) 414-9435.

And most importantly, please remember to keep you account and personal information protected. It is important for customers to know that M&T does not send unexpected emails, texts, or phone calls seeking personal data, account information, or card numbers. Customers should never provide sensitive information like their account number, card number, card PIN, username, password, or a one-time password to anyone who emails, texts, or calls them unexpectedly.

Seeking Volunteer Firefighters

Get ready to step up and stand out – Ellington, Broad Brook, South Windsor, and Vernon are seeking volunteer firefighters! Join each fire department on Saturday, October 1 at the Town of Ellington Fire Department Station 243 to learn more and take the first steps on your path to becoming a volunteer firefighter.

Each town's department will be demonstrating some of the tasks volunteer firefighters are called upon to perform in their communities. If you have any questions or require additional information, click here or email sfine@southwindsorfire.org.
