Dear Neighbor,

We talk often about the funding needed to keep our small towns at their best, and that’s why I’m so happy to announce that Ellington has been awarded a grant through the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP).

The Governor has approved a $500,000 STEAP grant to Ellington for a parking lot expansion project and sidewalk improvements at Hall Memorial Library, matched by $117,000 from the town. The STEAP grant is not only helping to fund a critical project - it's also helping to keep municipal taxes low.

Ellington was among 77 small towns approved during this round of funding, totaling $31.3 million for infrastructure improvements. The awarded grants will support Connecticut’s small towns in their efforts to expand economic development, community conservation, and quality-of-life capital projects.

Sincerely,

Jaime Foster

State Representative
