Dear Neighbor,

Just wanted to share a few updates with you all:

  • I'm hard at work as the Vice Chair of the Energy and Technology Committee.
  • I've attended my first committee meeting on Banking and am excited to serve in this new position.
  • The Public Health Committee is busy raising bills on a wide variety of topics including many of top concern in our district.
  • I've introduced bills based on work in the past 2 years and many constituent and local group lead efforts. I'm excited about ones related to energy and grid resilience, green energy financing, accountability for freight rail systems, tax reduction for seniors, more support for veterans, public safety bills driven by local police and EMS and a food as medicine and more!
  • I've been working with municipal leaders in Ellington and East Windsor on bond requests and hope to advocate with the Vernon delegation on Vernon requests.
  • I'm championing a bill on school meals for all that is a primary ask of the Vernon and Ellington district.
  • I've seen a LARGE influx in constituent issues around the Department of Labor and am working to find swift resolution for many local workers and companies.
  • I wrote letters of support for many local farms whose applications for the new Department of Agriculture grants went in over the last few weeks.
  • I'm working on scheduling a few themed listening sessions on bills of interest to our district.

There's more but this is just a quick snapshot on a day in the life. I'm hustling every day for you all! Stay in touch and keep reaching out if you have issues, ideas or anything!

The legislative session is really off and rolling as we just past the deadline to file bills. I'm incredibly excited to work with a group of bipartisan representatives to introduce, HB 5052 - our bill to allow more retirement income to be exempt from the state income tax. We've been working on this issue for sometime now and I'm committed to continuing this work in the new session.
