Rep. McGee State Capitol Update

January 24, 2023
Dear Neighbor,

Welcome to the start of the week! I hope you and your family are well.

I will regularly send monthly newsletters to keep you updated on what I have been up to as well as keeping you updated on what's happening in the legislature.

Please let me know if there is any information that you would like to me include. As always I am here to represent you, so if there are concerns you would like to share with me, please reach out.

FIRST DAY OF THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION
January 4th was the first day of the legislative session and I was surrounded by family as I was sworn in for my second term as the state representative for the 116th district. This year I will sit on the Education, Economy and Veterans & Military Affairs Commitee. I will also serve as an assistant majority leader. I look forward to working with all my colleagues this upcoming session!

REMEMBERING MY FRIEND
REP. QUENTIN "Q" WILLIAMS
Rep. Williams was not only my colleague but a great friend. I am deeply grateful that I got the chance to work with him. His leadership and mentor ship helped me during my first year as a legislator. Since day one, he have had my back and  wanted people to see the many layers of who I am.  This past December, Rep. Williams invited me to teach a theater workshop at his school in Stamford.

He said, “I want them to see someone like you in the arts, teaching theater.”. The First Black State Rep of Middletown, an accomplished educator and advocate. He accomplished so much. But beyond all, he was great person and friend.

Please hold up his wife, Carrissa, mother Ms. Queen, The General Assembly, family, friends and his students. 🙏🏾 May God grant us the peace that surpasses all understanding!

MARCH 4 LIFE RALLY
Last week I had the honor to speak at March 4 Life rally in Washington DC and was joined by thousands who support whole life. Click the photo below to watch my speech.
