During Today's session, we secured essential funding for our Connecticut students. 

We have been able to direct $60 million in federal funding to our Connecticut schools to ensure that every child has access to free school meals for the rest of the school year. This funding was made available to us from the Federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) which will guarantee each child has equitable access to nutrition in school - an important factor in their ability learn and thrive. 

I would also like to highlight the more than $20 million in special education funding that has been allocated to schools across the state. The town of Hamden will receive $477,765 towards special education funding
