I loved chatting with some great youth at the Legislative Office Building for Youth Advocacy Training. Students throughout Connecticut traveled to Hartford to learn how they can advocate for the things that matter to them. We were also joined by members of the CAGV Youth Council.

Visit to the Early Head Start and Head Start Program

It was great to stop by the TVCCA Early Head Start and Head Start Program to visit my little friends in the Butterfly classroom. I enjoyed reading, hearing about shapes and colors, learning to cook, and talking about vegetables in the mini kitchen. I had an amazing time.

"Who Am I" Event at Mitchell College

This week I gave opening remarks and joined the panel discussion at the โ€œWho Am I: The Intersectionality of Being Black and Indigenous in the United Statesโ€ at Mitchell College.
The amazing panelists were Anataya Lee, Dr. Gizelle E. Tircuit, Kim Locklear-Hodges, and Malik Champlain.

Thank you to the community members that came out, Big "Shout Out" and thank you to Professor Kevin Booker who organized and moderated this great event.

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

This week, public safety dispatchers throughout the nation are being recognized for their service and dedication to the community during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, celebrated annually in April. They are an extraordinary group of individuals who answer calls for help and service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for the communities in which we live. This is in addition to fielding radio calls from police officers, firefighters, and paramedics in the midst of it all.

They are some of our unrecognized unsung heroes of public safety, who at times do not receive the recognition they deserve.

I want to thank you for your strength, courage and understanding to those in need of help, and for the amazing assistance given to those rushing in to help.

ย
It is because of you many victims - along with police, fire, and paramedics - survive making it through emergency calls for service. Thank you for a job well done.

ย
A special shout out to Nicholas Alvarado, Jennifer James, Marie Egerton, Kerry Lynch, Rachel Lewis, Jamie DeGunia, and Mitchell Clapsadle, Timothy DeVeau, and Katelin Greatsinger. They are some of the great heroes that work with the New London Police Department
