You can expect more delays on I-95 north on the Gold Star Memorial Bridge. Crews are currently working to improve the structure below the deck surface as part of a $50 million project. The construction will reduce the Gold Star Bridge to four lanes and shut down the right shoulder until further notice.

There will be construction signs, traffic drums, and other traffic control devices to alert drivers to the on-going work. Drivers are urged to drive safely and to slow down in the work zone.

This work is not related to the deadly, fiery crash that happened last month. In my last newsletter, I informed you the bridge itself is safe for drivers. The bridge deck, sidewalk, fencing, railing, and shoulder pavement around the crash site will need further inspection and repairs before the sidewalk and shoulder can be reopened.
