Milling & Resurfacing Project on Rte 5 in East Windsor, Starting August 21

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 5 in East Windsor from the South Windsor / East Windsor Town Line to Newberry Road.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.54-mile segment of Route 5 in East Windsor from the South Windsor / East Windsor Town Line to Newberry Road.

This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. from Monday, August 21, to Wednesday, August 30, 2023. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Monday, September 4, 2023, to Thursday, September 21, 2023, by Galasso Materials.

No work will be performed during the Labor Day weekend consisting of Friday, September 1, Saturday, September 2, and Sunday, September 3.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on, Route 5 in East Windsor from the South Windsor / East Windsor Town Line to Newberry Road. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
