I want to wish everyone a Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 through October 15. Join me all month long in celebrating the rich culture and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans right here in Hartford and the rest of the state.

The community will be coming together for the Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival del Coqui on Sunday, October 8. The vibrant festivities will showcase our culture, music, food, and so much more. The event, originally planned for September 10, was delayed in respect for a fallen officer of the Hartford Police Department.

Our great city recently honored the life of a trail blazing Hispanic legend, Roberto Clemente. He is a symbol of Latino pride, success, and responsibility. The community came together to celebrate his accomplishments and legacy at Dunkin’ Park. We will always remember the selfless humanitarian efforts of one the greatest baseball players of all-time.
