There are free, reliable services available for those filling taxes before the deadline. I will host a vibrant community fair highlighting free programs and services in the Hartford area.

I strongly support the efforts of House Speaker Matt Ritter, Majority Leader Jason Rojas, and our legislative colleagues to increase education funding for cities and towns across Connecticut.

The governor has signed a bill into law strengthening election security. It was a privilege to a firefighter for his unwavering commitment to Hartford.

This week, my colleagues and I approved legislation affecting our schools, the bottle bill law, and health and social services. We unveiled a new specialty license plate honoring a mostly Puerto Rican military unit known as the Borinqueneers.

Local residents who made student loan payments last year can apply for assistance now. The timing of the release of SNAP benefits is about to change.

It was an honor to join my colleagues at the State Capitol as we officially began a new legislative session. We passed legislation to continue using the Emergency State Response Reserve to help offset federal cuts to vital services that protect our most vulnerable residents.

The governor has extended the state's Severe Cold Weather Protocol until February 5, marking the longest activation of this protocol in more than a decade. Time is running out to register for health or dental insurance through Access Health CT.
