Dear Neighbor,

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Standing with survivors means lifting up their strength and resilience, reminding them they are never alone in their journey. Honoring those we’ve lost keeps their memory alive and fuels our determination to do better for the next generation. And fighting for a cure is the promise that we won’t stop until hope turns into healing for everyone touched by this disease.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Survivors deserve systems that believe them and policies that protect them. I remain committed to preventing abuse, ensuring accountability, and prioritizing survivor-centered support. 💜

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. Organizations like CTSafeConnect offer free, confidential support 24/7/365. You are not alone.

Visit to the ADNL
It was a real pleasure to visit ADNL – ADNL / Asociación de Dominicanos de New London to celebrate their new office space on State Street, right across from City Hall. It was great to fellowship, share a meal, and spend time with so many familiar faces and new friends.

The ADNL continues to play a vital role in reviving Dominican roots here in New London — hosting cultural activities, community events, and volunteer efforts that bring people together and strengthen our city. Their commitment to unity and community progress truly reflects the spirit of New London.

Congratulations to the entire ADNL family

Women Between Cultures Doll and Art Presentation
What a night of culture and creativity! This week, I had the great opportunity to celebrate an incredible evening with the Women Between Cultures program. Participants shared nearly two months of hard work, presenting stunning handmade dolls along with beautiful art and tables representing countries across the Spanish-speaking world. Every piece reflected traditions, stories, and artistry born from community and togetherness. A huge round of applause to this amazing group of creators who made the night truly unforgettable!

Visiting the Mystic Aquarium
This week I joined many of my colleagues visiting both the Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport Museums to chat, chill and eat some good food. Its was nice to see everyone relax a bit/preparing to go back in for a special session hopefully before end of November. The hope is to finish unfinished business and help close some of the gaps needed for what's not going on in DC. It was a great day of fellowship. Thank you to the Mystic Aquarium and the Mystic Seaport for a day full of information and fun.

Visit to El Punto Del Sabor
Stopped by one of my favorite roadside food spots - food truck...."El Punto Del Sabor" for a quick & delicious chicken burrito. If you haven't had a taste - stop by for a good roadside taste. They are usually on the corner of Garfield and Jefferson serving the community good food.
