Investing in Our Veterans
Last weekend, I was honored to stand alongside fellow legislators and the leadership of New London VFW Post 189 as we recognized a significant state investment of $174,000 to support improvements at the Post. This funding will help address major building needs, including a new roof and essential repairs that will strengthen and preserve the facility for years to come.
Our veterans have dedicated so much in service to our nation, and they deserve a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained place to gather, connect, and continue their mission of supporting one another. I am grateful to have played a role in helping secure these funds and look forward to seeing the positive impact these improvements will have on the Post and the veterans it serves.

Limpia La Calle Community Cleanup Initiative
Over the weekend I had the opportunity to catch up with the Asociación de Dominicanos de New London (ADNL) as they continued their "Limpia La Calle" community cleanup initiative. Together, we walked State Street, Bank Street, Blinman Street, and Coit Street, picking up litter and helping keep our city clean and welcoming.
It was a great opportunity to get some exercise, connect with amazing community members, and see first hand the pride ADNL takes in serving New London. Thank you to ADNL for the invitation and for the outstanding work you continue to do to help keep New London beautiful, one street at a time.

Additional Summertime Child Nutrition Assistance
Families across Connecticut are receiving extra help putting food on the table this summer through the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (S-EBT) program.
The Connecticut Department of Social Services, in partnership with the Connecticut State Department of Education, is providing a one-time $120 food benefit for each eligible child to help offset meal costs while school is out of session. More than 350,000 children are expected to get support from the program.
This investment helps families with children pay for food during the summer months while school is not in session. More than $42 million in S-EBT funding is expected to be provided to Connecticut families this summer.
