Lead Water Line Replacement Project Update
In the last month New London ― Federal, state and local officials gathered in regards to $7 million in federal dollars to help the lead water line replacement project of the dangerous material in pipes buried throughout the City of New London, Connecticut.
This was part of President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure funding that will help replace around 150 lead service lines while completing ongoing inspection of homes and water lines from the streets.

Cash, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Congressman Joe Courtney, CT DPH Commissioner Manisha Juthani, City Councilors Efrain Dominguez and Akil Peck, Arcadia and Burns Construction for being instrumental in this project happening.

Gold Star Memorial Bridge Lane Closures

CTDOT is announcing right lane closures on I-95 Northbound Gold Star Memorial Bridge in New London and Groton starting Monday, September 9, 2024.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing right lane closures on I-95 Northbound Gold Star Memorial Bridge in New London and Groton. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, September 9, 2024.
The rehabilitation project consists of strengthening the truss approach spans of the Gold Star Memorial Bridge. The work requires the closing of a right or left shoulder and adjacent lane while activities are proceeding below the deck surface on the truss sections of the bridge. This work began February 28, 2022, with an anticipated completion date of June 25, 2025.

New this year is the joining of the Basque Festival on Saturday for a full weekend of nautical fun!
