Dear Neighbor,
Veterans Day

Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day.

Those who live in freedom will always be grateful to those who helped preserve it. This Veterans Day, to all those who have served and their families, thank you for all you have done for our country. 🇺🇸

For a database of programs, organizations, and services to military members and their families, please visit the CT Veteran Resource Page.

And in honor of the service of all our veterans, CTtransit will offer free bus rides to veterans, active-duty military personnel, retirees, and disabled veterans throughout the day. Individuals must present a valid military ID to ride for free. Click here for more information.

Visit to New London's Rotary Club

New London

Rotary Club Thank you for inviting me to speak with you. It was an honor to share my experiences and discuss the valuable lessons I learned during my time in the Navy—lessons that have guided me throughout my career in law enforcement and continue to shape my approach to life in the community.

I deeply appreciate the warm reception and the meaningful conversations we shared. Your commitment to service and community uplift is inspiring, and I look forward to supporting your important work however I can.

Thank you once again for your hospitality and for all you do for New London.

Combating Rape Culture Event
I had the great opportunity to attend and be the key note speaker at the the "Combating Rape Culture" Event presented by NOTE TO SELF . I am so proud of the young ladies for bringing this topic of discussion to peers, friends and neighbors. Amazing discussions led by experts and advocates from Safe Futures, CT Alliance to End Sexual Violence, Yale Safe Nurse and others. Great networking and resource tables for the community to take part of. Please take a moment and click NOTE TO SELF, like and follow the great great things they are doing.

Applications for Grants
FYI: City of New London, Connecticut 👉🏾 Applications are now open for 2025 grants that empower youth, promote basic needs and rights, and benefit the environment. Racial equity & social justice are central values in our grantmaking. We support programs that demonstrate these values for all residents of eastern CT, that contribute to movements in support of equity and justice in our communities, and that advocate to change inequitable systems. (Post from Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut)

Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Re-Elections
Congratulations to Chairman Rodney Butler, Councilor Daniel Menihan, and Councilor Michele Scott on their re-election. With their new three-year term beginning on January 1, 2025, their leadership will continue to be essential in driving the council’s initiatives and decisions in the coming years. Wishing them success as they guide the council forward!
