Dearly Beloved Neighbor,

Friday was a pretty busy day with two events highlighting women as part of Women's History Month.

At the Legislative Office Building Friday morning, I was proud to join Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, fellow legislators, and advocates for a roundtable discussion on the importance of CT Paid Leave to women in Connecticut.

The event featured stories of advocates, small business owners, and women who have been able to take advantage of the program to welcome a new child or to care for themselves or a loved one.

Later in the afternoon, I attended the "EmpowHer- A Women’s Safety and Resources Summit" hosted by my friend and fellow lawmaker Maryam Khan at the Capitol. This event featured a panel discussion, safety & survivor resources, a self-defense demo, recognitions, performances, and more. It was a good day.
