Fairfield/Brewster Corridor Plan Open House and Office Hours

January 16, 2024
The City of Bridgeport, MetroCOG, Connecticut Department of Transportation, and the Black Rock NRZ are developing a multimodal corridor transportation plan for Fairfield Avenue and Brewster Street in Black Rock. The purpose of the Corridor Plan is to reduce traffic, increase safety, and accommodate bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit users.

On Wednesday, January 24, the project team is holding an open house followed by a presentation and question-and-answer session at the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club.

The open house is from 4:30-6 p.m. and it is an opportunity to discuss the proposed improvements with the consultant team.  At 6:30 p.m., a public presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. A recording of the presentation will be posted on the Corridor Plan website following the meeting. MetroCOG will hold online office hours via Zoom following the public meeting on Wednesday, February 7 from 1-3 p.m. for those unable to attend the in-person events.

Funding for the corridor plan came from a grant I helped secure from the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT).

The Black Rock neighborhood is diverse, historic and vibrant. These two opportunities are a great time for feedback on the design concepts for the corridor to ensure the concepts that advance best reflect the goals of the residents, businesses and stakeholders in the community.
