Dear Neighbor,

Every February, we celebrate and recognize the accomplishments and contributions Black people have made, right here in Connecticut and across the globe as part of Black History Month.

Most of us don't know the name Carter G. Woodson and we should - he is known as the man behind Black History Month!

Throughout February, I hope to provide a daily insight, highlighting people, places, and things that are a part of Black History that you may or may not know about.
