Biography

State Representative Marcus Brown proudly represents Connecticut's 127th Assembly district in Bridgeport.

Rep. Brown was born and raised in Bridgeport and graduated from Central High School. He later earned an associate degree in General Studies from Housatonic Community College and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

In 2018, Rep. Brown was elected to the Bridgeport City Council and served for five years until being elected to the General Assembly.

Rep. Brown served as President Pro-Tempore and Ordinance Committee Co-Chair leading many initiatives, including passing and expanding the senior tax relief program and investigating the then predatory foreclosure practices of the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA). He was also a leader in managing the safety issues posed by ATVs and dirt bikes throughout Bridgeport.

Rep. Brown currently serves as House Vice Chair of the General Law Committee and is Assistant Majority Leader. He is also on the Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee and the Finance Revenue and Bonding Committee.
