Just recently, the U.S. Census Bureau announced that it increased its hourly rate for census takers in Connecticut from $21.00 to $23.00 an hour! They are hiring for a variety of temporary jobs, including census takers, recruiting assistants, office staff, and supervisory staff.

This January 1st not only marked the beginnings of a new year, it also meant the enactment of dozens of new laws and reforms for Connecticut residents.

I am pleased to report on funding recently approved for several housing projects in New Haven. Reliable shelter and housing are the corner stones of functional communities.
