Last Friday, over 57,800 students enrolled in the free or reduced-price meals program received the last round of the Pandemic EBT funding. This Friday, over 218,500 qualifying families will receive additional emergency food benefits through SNAP. If you are still in need of quality, affordable health care it is not too late to get a plan through Access Health Connecticut (AHCT), but time is running out. The American Rescue Plan Special Enrollment Period deadline ends August 15!

Today the House of Representatives met in a special session to extend Connecticut’s emergency declaration. Throughout the pandemic, our state has been a leader in responding to and navigating this public health crisis by listening to the experts and scientists. We must continue this trend to ensure we emerge successfully.

The long hurricane season began June 1 and is expected to be an active one. Connecticut has largely been spared from major hurricanes in recent years – for that we are thankful – but residents should always be prepared.

On Thursday, July 22, I will co-host an in person Town Hall event. I will be joined by State Representatives Joe de la Cruz and Anthony Nolan. The meeting will take place in the Groton Senior Center at 6:30 pm.
