Two health care reform bills designed to cap the monthly cost of diabetes treatment and expand Telehealth services were passed in the House of Representatives. Both bills seek to improve health care for Connecticut residents due to the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Today we took a major step toward ensuring a safe voting experience in November.

The House passed, by a vote of 144-2, a bill that allows for absentee ballot voting to ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Foodshare is hiring part time (approx. 30 hrs./week) temporary staff to work as Safety Coordinators at Mobile Foodshare sites across Hartford and Tolland Counties. The position involves travel across our service area to 3-4 sites per day. Must have a reliable vehicle. Safety Coordinators must be punctual and work well with diverse populations.

Over the weekend, America lost one of its distinguished heroes. John Lewis spent his 80 years fighting for equality for African Americans. He played an integral role in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. He served as the chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), and at 23 years old he helped organize the March on Washington.

Co-chairs and ranking members of the Committee on Judiciary stood outside the Capitol this morning to announce LCO #3471 An Act Concerning Police Accountability (AACPA).

The Resident Advisory Council, will host a Neighbor Night on July 1 at 4pm. The East Hartford Police Department and the EH Citizen Police Alumni Association will participate as guest speakers.

Governor Ned Lamont and Education Commissioner Miguel Cardona have developed a plan that will allow schools to safely re-open this fall.

The Department of Motor Vehicles is up and rolling again, though on a limited, appointment-only basis following a plan it developed for reopening this week.
