Chester & Haddam Receive Neglected Cemetery Funds

Chester and Haddam are two of 37 municipalities chosen to receive grant money to address neglected cemeteries. The towns will receive $8,000 for headstone repairs and/or restoration or straightening through the Neglected Cemetery Account Grant Program.

Transphobic and homophobic flyers were distributed around town attacking an educational event sponsored by the Tri-Town Youth Services Bureau. These flyers promoted transphobic and homophobic tropes, blatantly false information, and disturbing hate speech to strike fear in the presenter, persons attending the event, and residents in the town.

Help for Displaced Federal Workers

The Connecticut Department of Labor has brought together several programs and services to assist residents who have lost their jobs with the federal government. There are approximately 18,800 federal employees working in Connecticut.
