Children are returning back to school, however in these final days of summer many of them are still hungry and could use your help.

Summer is coming to a close and kids will soon be heading back to school. To help working families prepare – and save – Connecticut offers its annual Sales Tax Free Week. From Sunday, August 18 through Saturday, August 24, you can save on clothing and footwear - and send your kids back to school in style! 

In my role as Deputy Speaker I was able to go to leadership with my Bridgeport colleagues to make sure funding is made available for the Ralphola Taylor Community Center. 

The 2019 legislative session was demanding as ever and I’m grateful my colleagues and I were able to pass a balanced state budget that helps workers and people on fixed incomes, encourages economic growth and makes critical investments for our state – and all without raising our income tax.

I was proud to support legislation this session that eliminated co-pays and other out of pocket costs for breast ultrasounds and mammograms, and required health insurance policies to cover breast ultrasound screenings for more women.
