House passes bill to help restore public trust in law enforcement
May 31, 2017I am pleased the house passed a bill that will allow cities and towns, including Bridgeport, to tap into a $9 million reserve of state funding to purchase body cameras and dashboard cameras for police cruisers. House Bill 7308 would establish a task force to review the use of police body cameras and expands access to funding for its purchase.
Lawmakers Applaud House Passage of Tree Removal Bill
May 11, 2017I am pleased that an environment-friendly bill providing clarity on regulations governing the removal of trees on municipal properties passed the House of Representatives. This measure prohibits activities such as cutting, painting or marking trees, shrubs, rocks or any other natural objects on municipal property unless appropriate authorization is obtained in addition to posting notices of work to be performed in the area.
Mixed Martial Arts Bill Passes House
May 10, 2017House Bill 6266, a Mixed Martial Arts bill (MMA) that I am happy to champion, passed the House of Representatives and it’s on its way to the Senate for consideration.
The measure would establish regulations to allow MMA sessions in the state of Connecticut lifting burdens on promoters and putting protections in place for competitors.
